Professional Philosophy

I believe that children develop best when they have the support that flourishes their learning. When they have educators that support their learning through their own experiences and observations. They provide meaningful activities based on what they observe and they are cautious to plan experiences that benefit and include all children. They present challenges that allow the children to think, ask questions, and explore further in all learning outcomes that present themselves planned or in the moment. Children learn best through play, experiences, and problem solving when they have an environment that supports and understands their learning. Building strong rapport with each child ensures that an educator can provide and make adjustments as they see fit to optimize each child’s learning experience to their full potential. Educators are constantly learning as each day passes by taking time to reflect on the day, and to really listen to each child to get an understanding of their thinking. They are knowledgeable that all children learn different and they are excepting of that with open arms without bias or predigest. Educators are welcoming that all children are their own citizens who are part of the community, have rights, have a voice, and have opportunities to be heard. They are capable and competent to be in control of their own learning and we as educators need to respect that. Educators in my opinion, should view themselves as chameleons because they should never expect the children to change to adhere to their views and beliefs but instead should continuously change their “colours” in order to fit into the environment that supports each child. I believe that children are our future and our future is worth investing in. Becoming an educator is a way to help ensure that all children within my care receive the best practice of learning that they are entitled to. I believe in postmodern traditions and that although past theorists do make remarkable theories not one is fully right, but that each theory offers a different perspective and together they help set president for learning education. Education is a life long journey that all educators need to indulge themselves in, always be willing to try new things, receive reflection, and be open to new opportunities as they present themselves. Each day brings a new impact, whether big or small but non the less influential. Providing education to our children is the greatest gift we can give them and it is something I am very passionate about being apart of.
